How to Keep Your Circadian Practices Going on Holidays

Over the years I’ve found that a lot of hotels are very close to substantial phone towers and small cells, many even have antennas on the roof! Hotels also have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices such as tablets with hotel information.

I’m a big believer in enjoying life and not being overly stressed about less-than-perfect conditions while on holiday, as the last thing you want to do is stress yourself out when you should be relaxing, however there are a few things you can do to reduce your exposure.

Check locations of mobile base stations: Use RFNSA or a similar website in other countries, to see how close your accommodation is to nearby towers https://www.rfnsa.com.au/

Turn off devices: If you have portable devices in your room (phone, router, tablets, speakers, Smart TVs etc.) make sure you turn them off when not in use.

Stay in AirBnB homes: again, check RFNSA or similar for tower locations and choose a home that is a good distance from them. Turn off any device when you are not using them.

Travel: if you are really sensitive, you may want to choose a holiday close to home rather than travelling through airports, which are high EMF zones.

Shielding: taking shielding blankets to cover devices that can’t be switched off, or to cover yourself with while you sleep could also provide protection.

Keeping hydrated and grounded: make sure you take some decent electrolytes with you and can ground yourself in nature during your trip.

Have fun: as mentioned in previous blogs, stress can very much lead to illness, and you don’t want to ruin your holiday by worrying about things you cannot control fully. Do your best and enjoy yourself.
